Kakamega residents to pay tax on male circumcision and post-mortem on dead cats, chicken, dogs in New proposed bill.

Kakamega residents are an angry County after the local government proposed to introduce new tax.

The taxes which include clinical circumcision on male children in hospitals and postmortem on dead cats, dogs and chicken is mandatory after the changes of the Kakamega County laws.

The residents have criticized the government and condemned the new law.

“We are in a pandemic and instead of the government giving us incentives it is burdening us with more taxes,” a resident noted.

Another angry resident said that the new Ksh 600 levy for postmortem for dead animals will only add more problems to the already struggling residents.

Meanwhile, dairy farmers in Maragua have warned Governor Mwangi Wa Iria to pay them their dues or they will storm his office in demonstrations.

The farmers said that the country creamery has not paid farmers for three months adding that they will go slow in supplying their products too the company.

They have now given Wa Iria a two weeks ultimatum..
