Kigumo Residents Run For Their Lives After A Pack Of Hyenas Attacked Them Again.

Kigumo-Murang’a County residents are calling on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers to help them track and neutralize a pack of hyenas that has caused havoc in the area.

According to reports, the hyenas first stormed the area on Thursday 13 May and started attacking residents and in the process killed over 20 goats and sheep.

“They came in the evening of Thursday and started attacking us. The wild animals also killed 20 goats and sheep. In fact, in this second incident, one of my neighbor is currently healing serious injuries after the attack,” Martin Njogu, a resident, said.

The hyenas are said to have come from Kilimambogo Forest in search of food.

In a similar incident, Mathioya area residents of Murang’a are also complaining of python attacks saying that some headers have spotted huge snakes near the Elite School.

They are now calling on the KWS to help them in neutralizing the snakes to prevent human-Wildlife related accidents.

Notably, over 5 phythons have been captured in the area with 2 getting killed by residents after eating their goats, chicken and puppies.
