A wedding in Kiambu over the weekend will go down in history as the worst wedding ever!! The groom, Sebastian Kimemia, couldn’t believe it when very early in the morning, they were informed that they had to choose another venue for their event, as another older couple had booked the Serena Gardens they intended to tie the knot at. As if that was not enough, Sebastian had to fork out another 50K, to seek the services of another pastor to stand over their marriage. The previous one pulled out last minute, to attend a circumcision ceremony in Kakamega.
More drama followed. First, it began to rain as early as 6am. One of the tents was blown away by strong winds and the guests got soaked wet. The food was poorly cooked, as the chief Chef blamed the rain for soaking the charcoal and preventing his expertise to manifest. The salt was also unbearable.
Those at the VIP had to wait, for a new meal, a goat slaughtered at last minute to avoid embarrassment. Unfortunately, whoever cooked it added too much cooking oil, which meant both the groom and his parents, the bride and special invited guests had to frequently go to the toilet to relieve a bloated stomach and diarrhea.
That was not even the highlight of the day actually. The bride’s mother, and Sebastian’s mother-in-law, came to the event late, and drunk. She delivered a poorly scripted speech that got Sebastian angry. He pushed her off the stage, which angered her husband. Soon, Sebastian and Cyrus were at each other’s throats, kicking and fighting. The war only ended after one guest, an aunt, fainted due to the intense drama.
Most of the guests labelled the wedding a “Freak show” as Sebastian broke into tears in front of everyone. To add salt to injury, most of the gifts brought by the VIP guests were stolen. As people gasped at the unfolding drama, someone decided to steal the gifts and disappeared. By evening, the bride, Rachel Maina, couldn’t even take the ride home with her husband, as the Limo he hired broke down. She had to be carried on a Motorbike.
