On March 5th, 2023, family and friends of Bomet Woman Representative Linet Chepkorir Toto gathered in Chemomul village, Bomet county to witness her dowry negotiation ceremony. Photos shared online show both families coming together at Toto’s home for this joyous occasion.
Toto was elegantly dressed in a skirt suit and matching accessories, while her fiance, Godfrey Kimutai, arrived with elders in accordance with the Kalenjin culture. Negotiations between the elders from both families were conducted in line with their ‘Koito’ culture, resulting in a successful agreement. The happy families posed for a photo to signify their joyous moment. Multiple sources reported that the legislator’s dowry was Ksh350,000.
Toto and Kimutai got engaged on February 14, 2023. Social media was abuzz with photos of the romantic proposal, which featured rose petals and lit candles scattered on the floor. Kimutai was seen kneeling on one knee while Toto held a bouquet of flowers.
Toto expressed her gratitude and love to God for the blessings on her new journey. She shared her heartfelt emotions on social media, expressing her love and commitment to Kimutai.
