Mugithi musician DJ Fatxo has broken his silence regarding the mysterious death of interior designer Geoffrey Mwathi. The DJ, who is a person of interest in Mwathi’s death, briefly addressed the media on Friday after homicide detectives visited his residence at Redwood Apartments on Thika Road.
“I know that you love me, and I know that we all want to know the truth. We believe that justice will prevail, and my management will set a date for us to sit down and have a comprehensive discussion. Thank you, God bless,” he said.
When asked about his fans, he replied, “Nawapenda sana… Tutashinda,” which translates to “I love them very much… We will overcome.”
The Mugithi singer promised to speak to Kenyans about the incident on a future date, expressing confidence that the situation will pass. Mwathi is believed to have fallen from the tenth floor of Redwood Apartments, where DJ Fatxo lives, under unclear circumstances. It is said that he was partying with a group of friends earlier that day, and reports indicate that he had spent time with the popular DJ.
Following a directive from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations’ homicide department visited the apartment on Friday to thoroughly investigate the incident and take the necessary action. He thanked the DCI for his quick action and stated that the homicide team from the DCI headquarters was impartial, which would aid in resolving the claims of collusion at Kasarani Police Station, where the case was reported.
