There was drama in Roysambu yesterday Sunday, May 9 after a bodaboda guy allegedly stole a phone worth over Ksh230,000 from a lady.
In a viral video, two Nairobi ladies caused a scene after the Rider reportedly stole an IPhone from one of the ladies.
The ladies who refused to let go of his motorbike causing a scene attracting a huge crowd of curious Kenyans.
His colleagues tried to calm down the agitated ladies but it only led to more humiliations to the rider. Police who were in patrol intervined and calmed things down, taking the motorcycle and the rider with them to the police station.
However, it is not yet clear as to how the the lady’s phone got stolen and how the rider was involved.
This comes at a time when boda riders have been accused of taking advantage of their clients with some going extra miles of sexualy harassing them.
Meanwhile, Jomoko residents of Thika have raised alarm after bodaboda related robberies have been on the rise in the area.
The residents who mostly are college and university students say that the riders come from Kiandutu and and have been snatching phones and handbags from the unsuspecting residents.
The National Police Service (NPS) has asked Kenyans to remain vigilant and alert the authorities in cases of motorcycle related robberies.
