Kenya Government Releases Over Ksh 2.08B pesa Ya Wazee, Disabled, Vulnerable Children

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, under the leadership of Principal Secretary Joseph Motari, has disbursed over Kes 2.08 billion for the April installment of the Inua Jamii Program, as announced recently. Additionally, a sum of Kes 7 million has been allocated for nutritional enhancement efforts, which include cash allocations and health education initiatives.

According to Joseph Motari, the disbursement of Kes 2,082,697,000 for the April payment to beneficiaries of the Inua Jamii program, along with an additional Kes 7,231,000 for nutritional improvement endeavors through the NICHE program, underscores the government’s commitment to social welfare. He emphasized that the Inua Jamii program serves as a vital lifeline for the most vulnerable members of society, providing them with financial support to alleviate poverty, mitigate hunger, and enhance their overall quality of life.

The Inua Jamii program, a governmental cash transfer initiative, has been instrumental in offering regular stipends to those in need since its inception. President William Ruto’s directive since July of the previous year has ensured consistent monthly support for beneficiaries, reflecting a proactive approach in addressing societal challenges and promoting inclusive growth.
