Comedian 2mbili:  How I Used To Earn Ksh.290k in 30 minutes While in USA .

Comedian 2Mbili found himself on a surprising journey during his early days in the comedy scene when he embarked on a tour in the USA back in 2017. Being a relatively new face in the industry, the experience turned out to be unforgettable for him.

In an interview on Radio 47 with Billy Miya and Mwalimu Mbaruk, on their renowned segment “Hii sijawai sahau,” 2Mbili shared the story of how his USA tour unfolded. He recounted being approached by a woman on Facebook who expressed her admiration for his jokes and informed him that he had been selected to perform in the USA. Initially skeptical, he considered it might be a scam, but the woman not only helped him secure a working visa but also covered his full travel expenses.

Upon arriving in the USA, 2Mbili was warmly welcomed, and he began entertaining audiences in various states. He emphasized the considerably high performance fees in the USA, revealing that he was earning Ksh.290,000 for just 30 minutes of stage time.

His three-month stay in the USA translated to substantial earnings, allowing him to accumulate a considerable sum. However, the financial success came with added responsibilities as he had to provide for his family and support emerging comedians in Kenya, including figures like Shiti.

Expressing gratitude for the life-changing opportunity, 2Mbili returned to Kenya. During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to venture into the realm of YouTubers. Transforming his YouTube channel into 2Mbili TV, he began interviewing celebrities and eventually introduced the “Celeb Ride Show.” His success on YouTube not only became a fulfilling endeavor but also served as a reliable source of income, covering all his expenses.
