“Usiangalie sura, angalia roho”: Simple Boy urges fans not to focus on looks

Rapper Stevo Simple Boy is encouraging his followers to refrain from making hasty judgments about him, emphasizing that his soul remains untarnished.

In a recent Instagram video, the rapper showcased himself wearing various outfits while playing a Congolese song in the background. Alongside the video, he captioned, “Papa matulinga papa kamirigado, papa malovidovi. Jaime mes fans (which means I love my fans a lot), apana angalia sura, angalia roho, kijana roho safi,” highlighting the importance of looking beyond appearances and focusing on the purity of his spirit.

The situation took a heated turn when singer KRG The Don responded to Stevo Simple Boy’s claims of not knowing him. KRG, visibly displeased, retaliated in a video shared by YouTuber Nicholas Kioko.

“Wewe Simple Boy labda nikupeleke kwa shamba yangu nikuvalishe kanga ukue kama scarecrow kwa sababu sura yako inatisha sana. Usijaribu sana Simple Boy. Sura yako inatisha sana wewe kujicompare na mtu handsome boy kama mimi,” KRG exclaimed.

Translated as, “Simple Boy, maybe I should take you to my farm and dress you in a scarf to make you look like a scarecrow because your face is terrifying. Don’t try me, Simple Boy. Your face is extremely scary for you to compare yourself to a handsome boy like me.”

Stevo’s Instagram post triggered diverse reactions online, particularly because the up-and-coming artist had previously stated that he was unfamiliar with KRG.

“On a lighter note, who is KRG? I have been tagged on Instagram, and why are people trying to create unnecessary musical rivalries?” Simple Boy questioned.

It remains uncertain whether Simple Boy intended to ignite a Cassypool-like debate, alluding to a past controversy.

Simple Boy has garnered a substantial fan base in Kenya since his breakout hit “Vijana Tuache Mihadarati” five years ago, while KRG is still striving to establish himself in the Kenyan music industry.
