If only one can foretell the future, it might be much easier to be cautious about the actions one takes to avoid trouble.
However, since that’s not the case people have to stay alert all the time holding onto hope of not landing into trouble mostly without their knowledge.
Mutegi from Meru County explains how he ended up in prison serving a 20-year imprisonment. Before his imprisonment, he had two wives.
The first wife had 3 kids while the second child bore him one child. They all lived in peace and he and the second wife had been together for 10 years.
Nevertheless, the 2 were alcoholics and from time to time they would go out and have fun in clubs and later return home.
One day, they went out and after returning home, an argument ensued and Mutegi kicked the wife in the chest landing her on the floor.
He later helped her up and they went to bed as if nothing happened. The next morning, the lady complained of experiencing pain and Mutegi rushed her to the hospital thinking it had something to do with ulcers which shw had with for years.
Medics began attending to her but unfortunately, she passed away as a result of internal bleeding due to the force of the kick on her chest.
Everything seemed like a bad dream but it was the bitter reality. Mutegi went to the police station to write a report and it was there that he was arrested.
After days in remand, he was charged with manslaughter court and sentenced to a 20-year imprisonment he is still serving at Kingongo prison.
Through his imprisonment his parents, brother and first wife have all passed away denying him the chance to even say goodbye to them.
According to reports his kids are also in ruins since they have no one to look up to. He is currently aged 61 and regrets his actions though killing her was unintentional.
He warns people to avoid alcohol and drug abuse since they might unexpectedly land them in hot soup leaving behind regrets.
