“Nampenda sana,” Christina Shusho shoots shots at Nyanshiski

Christina Shusho stirred up a buzz among internet users when she openly expressed her admiration for the Kenyan secular artist Nyashinski.

In an interview with NTV in anticipation of the Shusha Nyavu concert at Garden City, the ‘Shusha Nyavu’ hitmaker couldn’t conceal her fondness for the Kenyan singer.

Passionately, she conveyed her desire for Nyashinski to attend the crossover concert hosted by Churchill, stating, “Yaani ningetamani Sana. (I really wish he (Nyashinski) comes.”

The gospel singer went a step further, expressing her willingness to collaborate with Nyashinski, emphasizing her deep appreciation for his musical compositions and calm demeanor. She remarked, “I love his compositions, I love his calm demeanor… His songs are good. They are not noisy.”

Discussing her music career dynamics, Christina Shusho shed light on her relationship with Tanzanian Bongo star Diamond Platnumz. Despite the differences in their musical styles, she revealed that their paths often cross due to their shared identity as artists. She explained, “We are both musicians. Music as an art makes us cross paths with Dangote many times.”

Shusho also disclosed that Diamond admires her songs, and she takes the opportunity to share her message with him whenever they meet. “I remember sitting with Diamond, and he told me, my sister, you are really doing good work… I preach to him. I can’t leave without preaching to him,” she added.

A month ago, Christina Shusho gained widespread attention on social media for her soul-soothing melodies, leading Churchill to invite her for the crossover concert. Observant Kenyans noted that many of Shusho’s songs draw inspiration from Bible verses and chapters.

“This is the true definition of gospel. One that teaches people the word of God,” commented one user. Another expressed, “Shusho is my all-time favorite gospel artist. Her songs speak to the heart.”
