Nairobi, in particular, has witnessed a surge in the adoption of electric cars and motorcycles in recent times. This surge was notably observed during the African climate summit hosted at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
This shift towards electric transportation aims to accelerate the integration of electric motorcycles and bicycles into the nation’s transportation landscape.
Let’s delve into the specifics of this multimillion-dollar electric car. It is expected to carry a price tag of approximately 1.4 million Kenyan Shillings. When it comes to charging, this vehicle requires up to 12 hours to attain a full charge. The cost for charging the car is set at 700 Kenyan Shillings. Once fully charged, the electric automobile boasts an impressive range of up to 300 kilometers before its battery requires a recharge.
In addition to the electric car, President Ruto has also been seen riding an electric motorbike valued at over 200,000 Kenyan Shillings, further showcasing his commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly modes of transportation.
