Controversial Mugithi artist Samwel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, stirred up attention during his recent performance in Dubai. Adding a surprising twist to his show, the father of five invited a Caucasian woman onto the stage, playfully warning her of potential consequences, humorously suggesting that the results might become apparent after nine months.
This noteworthy event took place only a year after a publicized dispute unfolded between Samidoh’s estranged wife, Edday Nderitu, and his current partner, Karen Nyamu, also in Dubai. The tension between Nyamu and Nderitu escalated almost to a physical confrontation during Samidoh’s Mugiithi show on December 16, 2022.
The drama unfolded when Karen directly approached Samidoh, forcefully taking a seat on his lap. In response, Edday stood up from her position and intervened, grabbing her husband’s hand. Security guards intervened in an attempt to separate the two women. A circulated online video captured the intense confrontation between Nyamu and Samidoh, with Karen allegedly almost slapping her child’s father before his security team intervened.
Edday attempted to pull Karen away from her husband before the guards successfully escorted Karen off the stage. Another video posted on social media showed Karen performing on stage with Samidoh and Akorino singer Karangu.
In the aftermath of the event, Edday shared a photo on social media, expressing that she was ending the year on a positive note with family and friends, emphasizing the significance of Mugithi in Dubai. Meanwhile, Karen shared her perspective, affirming her support for individuals embracing their true selves.
Samidoh’s Dubai performance featured collaborations with other Mugithi artists, including Joyce Wa Mama, Karangu Wa Muraya, and DJ Dbul, showcasing a mix of musical talents in the vibrant city.
