Despite her father testing negative for HIV, her mother’s positive status meant they faced significant challenges ahead.
Relocating from Eastleigh to Chebilat, her parents braced themselves for what they believed might be a short-lived journey for Moraa, not expecting her to surpass the age of twelve. However, at thirteen, her life took a pivotal turn when she commenced ARV treatment, marking a transformative moment.
In a moment of whimsy, Moraa reminisces about a period when she ceased taking her ARV medication amidst the fervor surrounding alternative treatments, such as the widely circulated “Babu wa Loliondo” phenomenon.
