Why I Import My Clothes From Geneva& Nigeria –COTU boss Francis  Atwoli

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General, Francis Atwoli, recently shared insights into his distinct fashion sense during an interview with Jeff Koinange on Citizen TV.

The seasoned politician revealed that he partners with fashion designers from Geneva and Nigeria to curate his signature wardrobe. Atwoli, known for his style, sported an eye-catching blue and white striped two-piece suit during the interview, which captured the audience’s attention.

“This fabric, I source most of it from Nigeria. This particular piece was designed by my grandson, who resides in the USA. He gifted me several fabrics,” Atwoli explained.

He also highlighted his Nigerian tailor, Mr. Okoli, who meticulously crafts his garments with remarkable precision.

Atwoli’s taste extends to oversized linen shirts, which he said are tailored in a Geneva factory, each personalized with his initials.

“My tailor in Nigeria, Mr. Okoli, handles these shirts. The linen ones are made in Geneva, and they come with my initials,” he shared.

He further emphasized that his refined fashion choices reflect his professional responsibilities, particularly his frequent trips to Geneva for official matters.

“It’s not about wealth. It’s about my work. I spend three months in Geneva. As one of the top leaders, I’m authorized to address the highest-ranking officials,” Atwoli elaborated.

His preference for gold accessories, including rings, bracelets, cufflinks, and necklaces, has become a trademark. Atwoli is candid about the considerable price tags attached to his luxury items.

“Many people don’t truly know me. Sometimes they overestimate, sometimes they underestimate my worth. Someone once said my watch was valued at $20,000, about Ksh 2 million. But my watch is not worth that. This is a Franck Muller. It’s pure gold and cost me over Ksh 5 million. I paid for it in installments,” he shared.
