The Jubilee Party, led by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, plans to hold a tree-planting event on Saturday at the Kenyattas Northlands Farm.
According to Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, many Kenyans from the Mt Kenya region have expressed their desire to restore the trees that were cut down by invaders on March 28th. Allegedly, these goons were sponsored by the government and raided the farm, felling trees and taking livestock. Kioni emphasized that they cannot overlook this incident and that Uhuru is still loved by the people of Mt Kenya.
He further added that the tree-planting event will not only be for planting a few seedlings, but also to demonstrate that the invaders were hired by top government officials. Kenyans have also pledged to donate sheep to the Kenyatta Family to shame the thieves who stole 1,400 dorpers worth Ksh70,000,000.
Some of these sheep were sold by the roadside for Ksh1,000, which is significantly lower than the market value of Ksh45,000 per sheep.
