A Nairobi couple was left devastated after discovering that their two daughters, both university students, had secretly turned to prostitution in the city.
According to the mother, the sisters were inseparable despite pursuing different courses in a private university. At first, they would visit home during holidays, but with time, their visits became rare. Whenever they came home, they always had excuses to rush back to the city.
The parents began suspecting something was wrong after noticing unusual behavior. On one occasion, the mother found an empty whiskey bottle but brushed it off, assuming it belonged to her sons who often partied at home.
Concerned, the parents made an unannounced trip to Nairobi to check on their daughters. However, the girls got wind of the visit and switched off their phones. After days of searching, a close acquaintance revealed their whereabouts — one daughter was living in Kawangware, while the other had moved to Kangemi.
Determined to get answers, the couple visited several nightclubs. On the third day, their worst fears were confirmed. They found both daughters dressed in revealing outfits, seated with men who appeared to be their clients. The father was so shocked that he broke down in tears and rushed back to the car.
When confronted, the girls showed little remorse. Though they went home with their parents that night, they escaped the following day and returned to their lifestyle.
Further investigations revealed that the elder daughter was living with two children and a man who wasn’t their father. Heartbroken, the mother took in her grandchildren to Kitui, as the young woman and her partner were heavy drinkers. Tragically, the elder daughter later died after being beaten for allegedly being involved with another woman’s lover.
At her burial, the younger sister appeared briefly but left the following day. She has since refused to return home, telling her mother that since her parents never exposed her to men while growing up, she now intends to “explore every man that comes her way.”
The grieving mother has tried everything — including seeking help from a witch doctor — but nothing has worked. She now lives with hope and prayer that one day her last-born daughter will abandon the destructive path and return home to rebuild her life.
