Several kenyans Stranded As Floods Cut Off Traffic On Nairobi-Naivasha highway

Mai Mahiu is currently grappling with severe traffic congestion as a result of a nearby river overflowing, leading to flooding on the roads and the displacement of local residents. It’s advisable to steer clear of the Mai Mahiu route as the dam at old Kijabe has burst, triggering ongoing nighttime rescue operations.

Reports from the Red Cross indicate that numerous individuals from Kamuchiri Village have been transported to a nearby medical facility for urgent care. Various emergency response teams including the Kenya Police, County Disaster team, Kenya Red Cross, and community volunteers are actively engaged at the site, coordinating relief efforts.

The situation is dire, with flash floods wreaking havoc on Kamuchiri Village and necessitating the transfer of affected individuals to healthcare facilities in Mai Mahiu.
