Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Muriithi Who Died In general Ogolla chopper Crash Buried In Kirinyaga

Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Muriithi, who tragically perished in a helicopter crash alongside General Ogolla and several other servicemen just a fortnight ago, was laid to rest today at his residence in Kirinyaga County.

In the memories of his loved ones, Kinyua remains an emblem of courage and discipline. His 8-year-old son, Harvey Muriithi, fondly recalls his father’s bravery and firm enforcement of discipline. Effie Nyakio, his daughter, cherishes the moments when her dad entertained her with songs and skillfully plaited her hair. His wife, in solemn tribute, lauds him as a man deeply committed to his faith and family.

In her heartfelt words, Wambui pledges to instill in their children the manifold virtues exemplified by Kinyua – from his teachings on reading the Bible and carrying it to school, to his emphasis on punctuality and principled living.

Muriithi was among the ten military personnel tragically lost in the helicopter accident near Sindar in Elgeyo Marakwet County on April 18, 2024.

Only two military commanders survived the harrowing ordeal.

Among the fallen heroes are Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu (Pilot), Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira.
