On Thursday, June 13, a senior police officer was shot and killed after he had opened fire on a magistrate at the Makadara Law Courts in Nairobi.
According to reports, the officer, an Officer Commanding Station (OCS), had traveled to Nairobi to attend a court case in which his wife was the accused.
Due to overcrowding, the court session was being held in a tent outside the main courtrooms.
After the magistrate delivered her ruling, the officer allegedly drew his firearm and shot Magistrate Monica Kivuti in the thigh.
“Nairobi Police boss Adamson Bungei reported that other officers present responded by fatally shooting the officer,” as stated by The Star.
