There was drama in Mukango village today Sunday, 20 June after alleged fake Safaricom agents were beaten to a pulp for try to con a customer.
According to eyewitnesses, the fake agents had sweet talked a lady identified as Joyce Wambui with amaizing deals of getting a higher fuliza limit and getting her name off the CRB records.
The lady is said to have raised alarm after they allegedly stole her mpesa savings after she unknowingly gave out her pin number.
“Waliniitisha ID, na phone number kisha wakaanza kunizungusha na sweet deals vile nitapata limit kubwa ya fuliza, mi ata sikujua nikiwapea pin yangu,” Joyce said.
After realizing that she had been conned, she is said to have approached area bodaboda riders who coonfroted the fake agents.
The agents failed to prove that they were legit safaricom staffs prompting the riders to descend on them.
“Hizi ghasia zimetuzoea. Juzi waliniuzia simcard yenye ilikuwa na deni ya Mshwari alafu mtu akinipigia na hiyo number anapata kuna mtu mwingine anashare number the same,” said one of the riders.
“Wanaezaje Ibiza Mzee? Hiyo kichapo wamepata ikuwe funzo kwa wengine,” he added.
