Rose Muhando finally addresses reports of conning Kenyan musician

Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Mhando has recently addressed the swirling rumors surrounding her alleged non-appearance at a promised concert, for which she was purportedly paid Sh200,000. Taking to her Instagram account, the renowned Nibebe hitmaker refuted the accusations and advised concerned parties to resort to legal channels rather than relying on social media allegations.

In her Instagram post, Mhando acknowledged the inherent challenges faced by public figures and cautioned against readily accepting all hearsay about someone. She emphasized her steadfast commitment to ongoing activities in Nairobi and recommended that any grievances should be formally addressed through appropriate legal avenues. Mhando also shed light on the fact that musicians seldom discuss openly the trials encountered in their ministry, highlighting the prevalent persecution they endure.

“When you are a public figure, various challenges will arise, and accusations will be made against you. Do not easily believe everything you hear about someone. In summary, I am here in Nairobi, continuing with my engagements. If you have any claims, there are legal channels. We, as musicians, have never publicly disclosed the challenges we face in our services. We, too, face persecution, and a significant percentage of us collaborate closely with religious leaders. Therefore, if we are persecuted, it means we are persecuted by these religious leaders, but we do not complain. Now, I would like to conclude my statement with what is currently ongoing.”

The controversy unfolded on December 4 when gospel singer Ali Mukhwana accused Mhando of deceiving and defrauding him of KSh 200,000. Mukhwana, one of the organizers of a crusade where Mhando was expected to perform, alleged that she accepted the payment but failed to honor her commitment.

Mukhwana claimed that they had reached an agreement for Mhando to be a guest artist at the crusade, and she had demanded Sh200,000 as her fee. However, he later discovered posters featuring Mhando promising to attend five other crusades on the same date.

Upon confronting Mhando, he asserted that she lied, dismissing the other posters as fake and insisting that she had exclusively committed to his crusade. Mukhwana further alleged that pastors from other churches confirmed paying Mhando, with her assuring them of her attendance.

Expressing disappointment, Mukhwana cautioned against inviting Mhando to future events, citing her perceived dishonesty. On the day of the scheduled crusade, Mhando reportedly did not appear, citing illness when questioned about her absence.
