Michael Ogada Olunga is one of the most successful Kenyan footballers in recent years. The sharpshooter plays in the Qatar Stars League for Al-Duhail SC, where he has finished as the top scorer in the league for two seasons in a row.
The Kenyan goal poacher earns around Ksh. 6.9 million monthly making him one of the richest Kenyan footballers abroad. They say behind every successful man there is a woman, while many high-profile players expose their women to the world, Olunga has taken a different path on the same.
Though, Engineer Olunga isn’t shy to shower his girlfriend Grace Edith Akinyi with sweet words on her special days of birthdays. Last year on the 3rd of December, Olunga penned down a heartfelt message to wish his girlfriend wishing her a happy birthday. “Today, a queen was born. Happy birthday, love. wishing you more wins, health, prosperity, and happiness. Here’s to another year of adventure, laughter, and endless love,” Olunga wrote.
The striker first introduced his girlfriend, Grace Edith Akinyi to the public eye, in 2019 after hiding her for quite some time through his Instagram account but since then, he has maintained their love life private.
The couple recently sued a city real estate firm over a dispute in a Ksh. 67 million land. The 29-year-old and his girlfriend had invested in real estate with the two paying the full amount of Ksh 67,292,500 in September 2022, but the company refused to transfer the property to them. Instead, they allegedly sold the land to a third party and made false promises to Olunga and Akinyi.
Sometime in 2022, in an interview, Olunga told the Nairobian, “The company refused to honor its end of the bargain to affect the transfer of the property to Grace Akinyi and myself. They have been consistently treating us to false promises, only to realize that they had advertised the property on social media sites and sold it to a third party,” Where Olunga and his girlfriend decided to take the legal way and eventually got their property.
