Oga Obinna, whose real name is Steve Thompson Maghana, has departed from Kiss FM after a year of being with the Radio Africa Group-owned radio station. On Monday, April 17, 2023, the comedian hosted his final show alongside Sheila Kwamboka, also known as Kwambox.
Obinna denied rumors that he was let go from the station, clarifying that both parties mutually agreed to end their relationship. He stated, “I’m no longer at Kiss. I have finished my contract…Those saying I have been fired, it is still very okay but my reason is very personal.”
Obinna expressed his excitement about working at Kiss FM, saying it was a dream come true. He had been trying to work at the station since 2013, and finally achieved his goal in 2022 when he was given the breakfast show on Kiss FM. He reflected on his experience at the station, saying he had achieved everything he had wanted to do and that he would continue to strive for excellence in his future endeavors.
The comedian expressed his gratitude to Radio Africa for the opportunity to work with them, saying that he had learned the importance of an organization caring about its employees and talent.
