Details emerging indicate that the High Court Judge who sent Kinoti to jail for four month has alleged that his, life is in danger.
Justice Anthony Mrima claimed that he had received death threats from senior state officials for what they termed as he (Anthony) being an enemy of the state.
Anthony did however not mention the case that led to the threats.
“Recently I handled a matter and issued some orders. The orders were directed towards some senior state officers. I was surprised to be approached by an emissary sent by one of the said state officers,” Justice Mrima stated.
He added that the threats stated that if he did not stop being personal while delivering a ruling, he will be dealt with.
He further went on to add that this was not the first time for him to receive death threats.
The judge delivered a ruling on Thursday, November 18th, where he sentenced Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, George Kinoti, to a four months jail term at Kamiti Prison.
Kinoti was found guilt of contempt of court.
