Mulleys Supermarket could be experiencing tough times which if not addressed might see it close business for good.
This week has been awash with stories on social media on how the first Chain of Supermarket in the Lower Eastern region, which is managed by The Peter Mulei family, has been witnessing empty shelves in some branches in Nairobi and Machakos County after suppliers cut off their supplies. The suppliers allegedly stopped business with the retiler due to accrued late payments for months.
A fact finding mission by our team in Mulleys Supermarket Kitui branch got operations going on as usual in the morning and the shelves were somehow full with supplies, when our correspondent requested information regarding the allegations and concerns shared by customers online, the operating manager Kitui branch directed her to talk to the head office.
However by the time of this publication the head of operations in Nairobi was not picking our calls.
Mulleys Supermarket has been a brand name in Kambaland region for years and if the current said woes are anything to go by, it could go down as one of the most trusted brand that will take ages to be replaced by an entrepreneur in the region.
