The fugitive officer is said to have shot herself dead on the night of 15 July, 2021 at her parents home in Nyawa village of Elgeyo Marakwet.
Confirming the reports, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, George Natembeya said, “”The reports we are getting from our officers in Keiyo is that Caroline came home at around 5am in the morning. She, however, did not get inside the house and at around 7am, she got into the bathroom and killed herself.”
As earlier reported by Muranganewspaper.co.ke the Killer Cop Caroline Kangogo had spoken and given conditions for her arrest to the multi agency tasked in tracking her.
Sources revealed that Caroline reached to detectives and asked not to be detained in any police station for fear of her life.
She said that her case will be aligned with the extrajudicial killings in police cells.
On a report shared by a local daily on July 15, lawyer John Khaminwa revealed that he had heard of allegations that Kangogo had listed conditions before handing herself over to the authorities.
“I don’t know her personally. I have never met her. Maybe she is familiar with me and we may have interacted in the court’s precinct as I represented my clients.”
“We (his law firm) offered to represent her in court and all she has to do is reach out to us,” Khaminwa stated.
Kangogo is accused of Killing a police Constable, John Ogweno in Nakuru and a former Juja Police officer, Peter Ndwiga.
