Phil Karanja reclaimed the BMW X3, valued at Ksh3.5 million, that he had previously bestowed upon his ex-wife, Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, and subsequently sold it.
The actor and film director had gifted Kate the BMW in January 2020 as a birthday present, just a month after the birth of their child. However, in a recent interview with a local news outlet, Phil expressed remorse for his decision to buy the German luxury vehicle for Kate Actress.
Acknowledging his youthful and imprudent choice, Phil admitted to the high maintenance costs associated with the car and deemed it a costly venture. He stated, “I love cars a lot, and so I was young and foolish, and I spent so much on my car, and it has been a very expensive journey to maintain. I am like, that is a car I would have used wisely somewhere. I sold it. I have decided to go back on Uber.”
Phil shared a photograph featuring himself in a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans standing beside the sleek BMW X3 just a day before announcing his separation from Kate Actress in September 2023.
After five years of marriage, Catherine Kamau and Philip Karanja mutually declared the end of their marital union in a joint statement released on September 19, 2023. Kate has since moved on and is now in a relationship with Michael Mwangi, the General Manager of Tribe Hotel.
