There was drama in Kambirwa village, Murang’a County after a 35-year-old lady gave her 49-year-old husband a dog’s beating after he sold their only cow and drunk all the cash.
According to the lady identified as Susan Njeri, her husband, James Maina sold their cow so that they could pay their sons college fee.
“We had agreed to sell the cow because our son had been chased from school because of the fees,” she said.
“I was surprised after he came home drunk and when I asked him where the money is, he became violent and I got angry and that’s when we started fighting,” she added.
“Hii nyangau inawezaje kunywa pesa yote, ata si atleast angeleta Nyama quarter. Imagine ata sukari haezi kuja nayo, amerudi na sigara tu,” Susan said angrly.
Curious residents who witnessed the rare drama said that Maina was heard at their local joint bragging how rich he was and even bought rounds for members.
Confirming the incident, Peter Njaramba, a Nyumba Kumi elder condemned Maina’s action calling for transparency among couples.
