We`ve waited long enough, this summer, for a major signing to put pen-to-paper on a deal with Chelsea Football Club, therefore, please forgive us if we offer a bit of saturation coverage.
Yesterday, Chelsea announced to the world that they had secured the services of the German World Cup winner, Antonio Rudiger, from AS Roma.
The player`s picture flooded the internet and stories emerged that Chelsea had employed a unique manner of announcing his arrival by using a social network site to announce his arrival.
The video showed a little girl in the club shop with her father buying her a Chelsea shirt. When asked what name she`d like on the back of it, she replied “Rudiger”, to which her
father replied, “He doesn`t play for Chelsea”, at which point a door opened and there was the man himself holding pronouncing that “He does now”.
But it seems that Rudiger has fulfilled an ambition in coming to our little corner of West London with the 24-year-old German international remarking about the move, to the media,
“For me the Premier League is the most challenging league in the world. And Chelsea, with Antonio Conte and his style of defending, will be the next step forward for me.
“When I heard of the offer of Chelsea, I realised that in life you never know if you`ll get a second chance. Not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this.”
Rudiger will wear the number 2 shirt vacated by Branislav Ivanovic and here at Vital Chelsea we`d like to take this opportunity to formally welcome the defender to Chelsea Football Club, may your stay be a long and fruitful one.
