“You must pay school fees without delays or stay with the kids at home”- CS Magoha To Parents.

The CS ordered all school heads to make sure that pupils and students from abled families should not resume school with third term’s fee balances.

Magoha had earlier warned school managers against sending home learners over fee balances, urging them to at least come to an amicable decision with parents on fee repayments.

In November last year, Magoha had issued a stern warning to school principals saying that the government would be ruthless against heads who disobeyed the ministry’s directives.

Yesterday, June 7, the Education CS took an about turn and ordered parents to pay up or rist their children being sent home to collect collect the fees.

Magoha said that the parents are using the Covid-19 pandemic as a scapegoat to avoid settling the balances.

He went on to add that school heads should check whether students sent home to collect fees come from a poor family or not.

Notably, the government has released Ksh 9.3 billion to all schools across the country to see a smooth learning transition.

Ksh 2.8 billion will be allocated to the primary schools across the country while the remaining Ksh 6.5 for the secondary schools.
