Vybz Kartel Reportedly Battling Life-Threatening Illness & Heart Condition in Maximum Prison

Vybz Kartel, the popular Jamaican dancehall artist, is currently facing a severe health crisis during his imprisonment. Adidja Azim Palmer, his real name, is reportedly battling a life-threatening illness behind bars.

According to his lawyer, Kartel is suffering from Graves disease, an autoimmune disorder, as well as two heart conditions. The musician’s health has significantly deteriorated due to spending 23 hours a day in solitary confinement, following an alleged cellphone infraction.

The lawyer described the gravity of Kartel’s condition, stating that his neck has become swollen to the extent that a collar with an 18.5-inch circumference cannot be closed around it. Additionally, his face has visibly swollen, and the illness has caused his eyes to protrude, even though he regularly wears glasses.

Lisa Every from Fox5 news obtained a sworn medical affidavit from Kartel’s private doctor, confirming that he has been battling Graves disease for the past seven years. The affidavit indicates that his Graves’ Disease and heart conditions are worsening, posing a potential fatality if he does not receive adequate medical treatment.

Kartel, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2014 for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams in 2011, is actively appealing his conviction in a court in the United Kingdom, as reported by FOX 5 New York.
