Tragedy struck as a bus transporting students from Kenyatta University met with a fatal accident near Maungu in Taita Taveta, at Taita village. The incident, which occurred on Monday evening, March 18, involved a collision between the university bus and a trailer, as confirmed by the police to the Standard.
The students were en route from Nairobi to Mombasa for an academic excursion when the unfortunate event unfolded. In the aftermath of the accident, several students are feared dead while others have sustained injuries.
Emergency services swiftly responded, transporting the injured students to the Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi for medical attention.
