Nollywood Actor Mr Ibu’s Leg Amputated, Family Appeals for Financial Assistance

Nollywood Actor John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, recently underwent a series of surgeries, including a leg amputation to ensure his survival. The actor’s family shared this update on his Instagram page, revealing that he had gone through seven successful surgeries.

As of noon today, Daddy (Mr. Ibu) has undergone these surgeries, but the amputation of one of his legs was necessary to increase his chances of recovery. This has been a difficult development for the family, but they have accepted it as his new reality to keep him alive. They continue to seek support from well-meaning Nigerians to assist in his delicate situation.

In October, a video of Mr. Ibu went viral on Instagram where he sought prayers and financial assistance from his fans. He mentioned that his doctors had recommended the amputation of his leg as the best solution, even though they were exploring other options.

Mr. Ibu is widely recognized as one of Nigeria’s most talented comic characters, having appeared in over 200 Nollywood movies, including popular titles like “Mr. Ibu,” “Mr. Ibu and His Son,” “Coffin Producers,” “Husband Suppliers,” “International Players,” “Mr. Ibu in London,” “Police Recruit,” “9 Wives,” “Ibu in Prison,” and “Keziah.”

We wish Mr. Ibu a speedy and successful recovery.
