Today, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho with Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai,were to attend a summon by the Parliamentary Security Committee,to clarify why DP Ruto’s security GSU elite team was replaced with Administration Police.
During the said summon, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i excused the calls that DP Ruto’s security detail has been downgraded.
Matiang’i told the security council that DP Ruto is the most protected second in command in history,with 257 security personel guarding him,his family his homes and properties.
Matiang’i further revealed that DP Ruto is being protected by 74 Presidential Escort Unit,which are trained to guard him and escort him any place he goes.
He additionally said that the DP is assigned out 51 officers from different police units are shipped off to watch DP Ruto’s properties in many parts of the country.
The super CS additionally said the commanders of the GSU attached to DP Ruto have not been changed and they have not been changed ever since he became a deputy president.
