Cause of death of former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has been revealed.
As per the post-mortem report, Midiwo passed on of acute kidney failure.
Addressing the press at Lee Funeral Home on June 18, Prof. Jacob Midiwo, Jakoyo Madiwo’s senior , affirmed that indeed Raila Odinga’s cousin died of acute kidney failure in the wake of getting results of the post mortem done on the deceased MP.
“We will know now what to do. Whether to engage somebody to investigate further,” Jacob stated.
He further referenced that toxicological tests done on the deceased will take a upto three weeks before they are released.
Jacob added that the family would continue with burial plans as the specimen needed for the test had effectively been removed from the body.
The family said that it won’t rule out foul play in the MP’s passing and will look for the services of private specialists to do the test.
Initial reports stated that Midiwo had died from a cardiac arrest on Monday, June 14.
His family however questioned the heart failure hypothesis attributable to the fact that Midiwo was fit during his passing.
“Midiwo was fit, well and going about his activities. We cannot understand why and how he just fell ill and died,” the professor wondered.
