Introducing a New Pathway: Aspiring medical students in Kenya can now take advantage of a new application process to join the prestigious Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal.
The KUCCPS portal opened on Saturday and offers an array of 30 KMTC programs at both diploma and certificate levels for interested applicants to choose from. To be eligible for application, individuals must have completed the KCSE examination between 2013 and 2022, and the application deadline has been set for August 4, 2023.
This development signifies a significant milestone as KMTC and KUCCPS share a common goal of promoting equitable access to high-quality higher education and training opportunities for all Kenyans.
KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, emphasized the importance of this milestone by stating, “This is a crucial step in our joint efforts to enhance access to quality higher education and training opportunities, ensuring fairness and balanced access for all Kenyans.”
By offering KMTC courses on the KUCCPS platform, the application process aims to ensure fairness and equity, enabling all eligible students to have a chance at pursuing their medical aspirations.
A noteworthy advantage of utilizing the KUCCPS system is its existing database of KCSE examination results, which eliminates the need for applicants to provide their results separately, thereby ensuring a transparent and cheat-free application process.
Interested applicants can easily access the list of available programs and their respective minimum subject requirements at the 83 KMTC campuses nationwide by visiting the KUCCPS Student Portal.
To streamline the application process, KUCCPS posted an announcement stating, “KMTC courses are now available for application on the KUCCPS portal students.kuccps.net. The application deadline for the September 2023 intake is August 4, 2023. Spread the word!”
