Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Center and Church has been called out by Milele Funeral Burial and Benevolent Services in Kilifi County for making false claims about their business. During one of his sermons, the pastor claimed that he had performed a miracle that drove the funeral home out of business by sprinkling three bottles of holy water on a black spot along the Mombasa-Malindi Road where the funeral home was conveniently located.
The pastor alleged that the funeral home welcomed deaths along that stretch because they had their ready business for funeral service. However, the claims made by the pastor were false and have caused great harm to the reputation of the funeral home. Johnson Amani, who heads Coastal Links Investment Limited, the company that operates the funeral home, stated that the facility is still operational and any false information being advanced by the pastor should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
Amani also added that pastor Ezekiel has been tarnishing the facility’s name since 2020. Milele Funeral Services has threatened to sue the pastor for defamation, and rightfully so. Such false claims can cause immense harm to a business, and it is essential that people refrain from making baseless statements that can damage the reputation of others.
