Hard Times! See what a man was caught doing in a toilet at Holy Family Basilica Church.

A middle aged man was allegedly found stealing a pipe and a toilet sink from Holy Family Basilica church in Nairobi on Friday.


Alex Keya was caught by a guard while pretending to be using the toilets.


Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Elena Nderitu, Keya asked the court to pardon him, saying  he was only using the toilet because he was suffering from diarrhoea.


He said that while using the toilet, the sink broke causing the pipes to fall alerting the watchman.


The suspect added that the watchman found him fixing the pipes and accused him of trying to steal.


Senior Principal Magistrate Elena Nderitu said the accused denied stealing goods worth Sh10,000 and ordered that Keya be remanded in custody without bail.


The case will be heard on March 16.
