Kabogo vows to rid Kenya of drug menace if given job to fight trafficking

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has said that he is capable of dealing with the scourge of drug-trafficking in Kenya.

Talking on K24’s ‘punchline’ program, Kabogo radiated certainty that if he is given the job, he would clear out the problem, making it a relic of past times

“If you give me the job to chase away drug dealers, none will be left in this country, ” the former governor said.

Kabogo proceeded to add that the individuals who were participating in the illicit exchange of selling drugs are well connected individuals enjoying good protection.

“You cannot do drugs unless you are well-connected. Sh5 billion worth of drugs were burnt!” he added.

The former governor has in the last been blamed for taking part in drug-trafficking, a charge that he has denied.

He said that he was prepared to present himself to law enforcement authorities should he be forced to do so.

Drug trafficking continues being an issue particularly at the seaside city of Mombasa.

In a bid to show that his administration is focused on the issue, the head of state President Uhuru Kenyatta presided the destruction of drugs at the coast.
