A Kenyan woman has revealed to the BBC that she is HIV positive saying that men just judge a lady by the looks and pass her as positive or negative.
The lady identified as Susan Metta Wairimu said that most men don’t believe that she is positive.
Revealing how she got the virus, the 40-year-old lady said that she suspects that she got the virus in Sudan where she was working at as hotel manager.
She added that the virus started kicking in around 2018 after her job tenure ended unceremoniously.
“I would feel suddenly hot or cold. I thought it was my body responding to the weather,” she said.“I finally took the test on January 16, 2019, after ailing for almost 6 months.”
Adding;
“When the results came, I smiled and told the medical practitioner to give me ARVs. I was happy because I feared I had cancer.”
She also revealed that during her stay in Sudan, she had multiple partners and in 2019,thats when it dawned on her that she was infected with HIV.
Susan detailed how she accepted her situation and started a YouTube channel where she educates Kenyans on how to live with the virus.
