The father of a 35-year-old who killed his better half and their four chuildren in Kirinyaga on Monday has opened up about the personality of his son.
Addressing the media yesterday, Muriithi Njuki expressed doubt that his child was capable of carrying out such an abomination.
Njuki expressed that growing up, Murage, had consistently been a quiet kid who avoided confrontation.
“He is my child, I have always known him as a good person.
“I don’t know him as one to create trouble with anyone,” he reiterated.
His sentiments were emphasized by his cousin and neighbors, who portrayed him as a quiet man who cherished his family.
Nonetheless, the family of his better half, Millicent Muthoni, had an alternate assessment.
As per her brother, Richard Mugo, the two had a stressed relationship in the days prompting the tragedy.
Mugo claimed that Muthoni had intimated to him that she had continually fought with her husband and had even made courses of action to return back to her parent’s home.
“She told me that she had fallen out with her husband, and she was to bring some of her clothes home,” he told the media station.
According to a neighbor, the fight started on Monday evening, As Muthoni was preparing a meal for dinner.
Although details of what took place remain scanty, Murage surrendered to the police in Kirinyaga after killing Muthoni and his four children aged between one and 13.
He then, took the police to a thicket where he claimed to have hidden the axe which he used to butcher his family.
