Omondi took to his social media platforms to make a heartfelt plea to fellow Kenyans, urging them to assist the mother in covering the significant hospital expenses required for her ailing baby, who was in dire need of specialized care.
Initiating an online fundraising campaign, the collective effort managed to amass nearly 1.5 million Kenyan Shillings. These funds were intended to alleviate the burden of Pyden’s medical bills and support his journey towards recovery.
In an endeavor to improve Pyden’s condition, he was transferred from Kenyatta National Hospital to an advanced medical facility. Despite the hopes and efforts, the young boy eventually succumbed to the relentless cancerous growth, which had taken its toll on him within weeks of his birth.
Eric Omondi shared that preparations and arrangements for Pyden’s final resting place are currently in progress. The gathered funds will be utilized to ensure a dignified farewell for the young soul.
In Omondi’s words, “We have bid farewell to baby Pyden. His strength was remarkable, fighting an admirable battle during his short time among us. In his fleeting existence, Pyden imparted invaluable lessons, teaching us resilience. Now, he has found his rest. We shall honor him as a legend, celebrating his life and bestowing upon him a regal send-off fit for a prince. May he find eternal peace. In the face of this loss, our hope remains unbroken; we shall lay him to rest as a courageous soldier, our heads held high. Once again, heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed. Our journey continues.”
