All Schools To Be Re-Opened On Monday in Kenya

President William Ruto has recently mandated the reopening of all schools as of Monday, May 13, 2024. This decision stems from an optimistic outlook on weather forecasts, indicating a decline in heavy rainfall which had previously caused delays in school resumption.

Concurrently, President Ruto has directed the allocation of funds for the repair of school infrastructure damaged by the aforementioned heavy rains, utilizing the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF). Originally slated for reopening on April 29, 2024, schools had their resumption date deferred to May 6, 2024, due to disruptions caused by the inclement weather.

However, President William Ruto subsequently instructed the Ministry of Education to indefinitely postpone the reopening of all schools last Friday, citing the flooding crisis brought about by the persistent rains.
