Drama as bar attendant snatches plainclothes police officer’s phone over KSh2,220 bill; he comes back in full uniform and shoots

Authorities in Narok County are currently investigating an incident involving a police officer at a liquor establishment situated in Lolgorian Shopping Centre.

The event transpired on Sunday, April 7, around 6 pm, where Dennis Imai, an officer attached to the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) stationed at Enkorika Village, visited JJ Wines and Spirits while dressed in civilian attire.

Upon arrival at the liquor joint, Imai encountered Jackline Jemeli, the bar attendant, who allegedly seized his phone due to an outstanding bill of KSh2,220.

According to a report submitted to the Lolgorian Police Station by Vivian Menjo, Imai exited the establishment only to return 30 minutes later, fully uniformed and armed with a rifle, accompanied by an unidentified motorcycle taxi rider.

The report states that the officer aggressively demanded the return of his mobile phone, and upon Jemeli’s refusal, he discharged a single round before hastily departing with the aid of the awaiting motorcycle taxi rider.

Fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from the incident.

Following the occurrence, officers from the Lolgorian Police Station visited the scene. However, their search for the spent cartridge proved futile, leading to suspicions that the officer may have retrieved it before fleeing the scene.
