Aliniachanisha hivo- Man claims Waiguru left him stranded in a lodging, and failed to turn up.

A man has sensationaly claimed that Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru left him high and dry at a lodging in Kirinyaga.

The man identified as Stephen Kariuki Muigai said that despite the agreement between him and Waiguru, the governor failed to turn up leaving him with expensive bills at the high end hotel.

Waiguru is yet to comment on the matter but Stephen claimed that he had walked from Nakuru, a one week’s journey to Kirinyaga to attend he Mashujaa celebrations.

The 67-year-old said that he arrived in Kirinyaga at 7pm on Tuesday, October 19, adding that he was welcomed by the Governor’s officials who took him to waiguru’s residence in Kagio town near Sagana.

“One of her assistants booked me into a hotel in Kerugoya Town, promising to pick me up at 7am so that he could take me to Wang’uru Stadium,” Muigai said.

“It hurts when one walks more than 200 kilometres, only to miss out on the event he or she had eagerly anticipated,” said Muigai.

He noted that he was locked out of the Mashujaa Day celebrations held at Gusii Stadium last year over lack of an invitation card.
