Former beauty queen and actress, Jokate Mwegelo, recently organized an extravagant celebration in honor of her daughter’s first birthday. The joyous occasion, which also included the christening of the child named Fionna, took place on December 28, 2023.
Jokate, in a heartfelt message, shared the significance of the event and the preciousness of her daughter’s milestone. Despite the grand festivities, the former District Commissioner maintained the privacy of her child’s face.
The event featured a choir that performed Christian songs, reflecting Jokate’s strong faith. The politician actively participated in the choir, showcasing her devotion through song and dance. Clad in a matching lilac gown with her daughter, Jokate also revealed the baptism invitation, adorned with the inscription “My baptism, Fionna December 28, 2023,” accompanied by a cross.
During the celebration, Jokate dedicated a Bible message to her daughter, choosing Psalms 23 as a source of inspiration and guidance. To enhance the event, Jokate enlisted the services of a provider from New York City, adding a touch of sophistication to the festivities.
In addition to her roles as a mother and entertainer, Jokate holds a prominent position in Chama Cha Mapinduzi, where she serves as the Secretary General of the Women’s Union of the Central Committee. Recognized as a dynamic and influential leader, Jokate, at 36 years old, continues to make a significant impact on the political and social landscape. Last year, she was appointed as a key figure to serve as a women’s mobilizer, further solidifying her commitment to promoting women’s issues and empowerment within the community.
