President Ruto Calls Emergency Security Meeting After Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla was killed In Chopper Crash

President William Ruto has urgently convened the National Security Council (NSC) at State House in Nairobi following a tragic incident involving a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) helicopter crash on Thursday afternoon.

The KDF helicopter, transporting Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla, tragically crashed at the Kaben-Cheptulel border, situated between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.

General Ogolla, a vital member of the National Security Council, was aboard the helicopter at the time of the incident. The council comprises President Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Attorney General Justin Muturi, National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Noordin Haji, Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, and National Security Advisor Monica Juma.
