At times, we may find life treating us unfairly, prompting us to question our existence and even question the higher powers. Jack, a paralyzed Rwandan man, will forever recall the events of 2022 as the year he lost someone dear to him.
Highlighted in a feature on Afrimax English, Jack and his late wife Kenia were a resilient couple who had risen from humble beginnings to achieve success, facing challenges hand in hand. Despite Jack’s disability, Kenia chose to love him and make him her life partner.
Through the generosity of others, the couple achieved stability and decided to formalize their commitment. After a recent traditional wedding, held just a month prior, Kenia, who was grappling with fallopian bloating, underwent surgery. Although she remained in a stable condition, her recovery was ongoing, marked by certain challenges. The couple had plans for a church wedding scheduled for March 3rd, 2022. Tragically, this celebration never came to fruition as Kenia passed away before the appointed date.
The sudden death was a profound shock, bringing immense pain. All preparations for the wedding had been completed; the only thing left was for them to walk down the aisle. Kenia was laid to rest on March 3rd, the very day intended for their wedding—a poignant reminder of the cruelty of death. The funeral was emotionally charged, an event etched in Jack’s memory forever.
