Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Amondi Nyong’o recently celebrated her beloved cat, Yoyo, on his third birthday.
Yoyo, adorned in a special blue birthday hat, posed proudly with his famous owner. Nyong’o made sure to spoil her feline companion, treating him to a selection of crinkle toys to make the day even more exciting.
“Go Yoyo! It’s yo birthday! 💖🐈🎂 Please join me in wishing him a very happy 3rd birthday! 🎁 #Yoyoyyo #ChildlessCatLady,” she wrote.
Lupita adopted Yoyo from the Best Friends Adoption Center last year. She revealed that before her role in the film A Quiet Place: Day One, she had always been afraid of cats.
However, working with a feline costar in the horror-thriller helped her grow to appreciate these animals.
“Introducing my new companion, Yoyo! I have historically been afraid of cats, but when my life changed suddenly, a little voice whispered that it was time to embrace new possibilities. A dear friend (shoutout to Palmer Hefferan!) held my hand through the process and took me to visit my first animal shelters. I fostered Yoyo from Best Friends Adoption Center, and just three days in, I knew I couldn’t give him up.”
Lupita’s love for Yoyo has been clear for some time, with the actress frequently sharing glimpses of their bond on social media.
Happy 3rd birthday, Yoyo!
